Summer days philosophy : The “paper straw” metric, mega yachts and the “green bulshit” .

What a wonderful thing, to relax, sit by the sea, with a gin tonic in your hand.

What can spoil that moment?

Obviously, because I am always picky and obsessive to find flaws in everything, I found it. The f.king paper straw that dissolved half way my gin tonic.

Annoyed by it I looked up and saw this white beauty. The famous Lady Moura chilling in my sea view, with the helicopter just hovering for landing.

Then I looked down again at my paper straw and I unloaded a long series of profanities (just in my head because there were children around).

I then asked Gemini for a small comparison just to make things worse.

The comparison is jaw dropping.

So yeah, if I use one paper straw per go tonic I need to drink 1 billion gin tonics to produce the same carbon footprint as my neighbour.

So I asked Gemini again for some feedback.

So my neighbour carbon emissions = one month of worldwide consumption of gin tonics with paper straws !!!

So yeah the obvious solution from the politicians: use papers straws !!!

I just started then to call bulshit on all this green “let’s save the planet” by using paper straws and reciclabile paper plates and wooden forks and knives.

I just concluded that this is just classic propaganda for the peasants to keep them  occupied and focused on the wrong issues.

Even Gemini agrees with me :

PS: While drinking that gin I was reading about Jeff Bezos latest wedding, where 96 private jets descended on Venice in one day 🙂 Several billion paper straws there also.

I think “paper straw” would be a better measure for carbon footprint than tons of carbon or other “technical” measure of pollution.

Just my “Two Straws” 🙂
